Ridge House

Set into the contours of a mountainous lakeside site, this custom two-storey residence is a careful
response to both land and light. The design prioritizes minimal disturbance to the natural topography, with a stepped foundation that follows the slope of the land. Expansive rooflines are oriented not only to frame long views down the lake but also to optimize solar exposure for integrated photovoltaic panels.

Accessibility was a central design principle—this home is fully wheelchair-accessible, featuring wide
circulation paths, flush thresholds, and a centrally located elevator that connects both floors with
ease. Industrial-style window frames, inspired by early 20th-century factories, lend the home a timeless character while maximizing natural light.

Programmatically, the home includes a lap pool, sauna, outdoor kitchen, and a temperature-controlled wine cellar—spaces crafted for wellness, leisure, and entertaining. Blending contemporary comforts with rugged landscape sensitivity, the home is both grounded and forward-thinking in its approach.
